How to Choose Best Bristle Artist Brush

1. Bristle Origin: Chung-king, China

The strongest of the epidermal filaments, it comes from the body of hogs. Top quality white hog bristle hair comes from the Chung-king (Chongqing) area of China. Shanghai Beaux-Arts only choose 0.12-0.14mm Chungking bristle make interlocked brush. More thicker bristle can offer better resilience. The ordinary bristles are easy to brittle. But the top quality  bristles retain their natural oils and do not become brittle.

2. Bristle Split Ends 

Hog bristles differ from hair in that they have hollow tubes and the top of each strand is divided into two or more tips called flags, like a miniature twig, which allows the relatively stiff bristle to carry a considerable amount of color. They are tougher and more rigid than most natural hair brushes and are best for applying thick layers of paint. The top quality bristle artist brushes almost split ends for each of bristle. It offer a smoothly painting journey with better resilience.
